一、《穿越百年中东》：一本通过游记的形式把中东今日的局势讲的比较清楚的书，但观点和史料就不可考了，需要自己辨别。从奥斯曼土耳其在一战后被瓜分到各种宗教极端组织（如哈马斯、ISIS）的前世今生，从黎巴嫩谈到以色列，逻辑清晰、顺畅，文笔也好。
二、《他们最幸福》：作者自己把生活过成了旅行是值得羡慕的，可惜我们也只有羡慕的份儿。忙忙碌碌的为面包而奔波的朝九晚五，一年两次休假紧张的走马观花的旅行，于我就已满足。参差多态乃是幸福的本源，这本书告诉我们世界上有另外一种你不知道的活法。人，这辈子短短几十年，只要自己感到幸福就好。
三、《在路上》：这部杰克·凯鲁亚克的小说被背包客奉为经典，大概是说一群年轻人开车横跨美国大陆的旅行。 印象深的是他们浑浑噩噩、精神空虚、放荡不羁，一路狂欢嬉笑，是对美国60年代嬉皮士运动和这“垮掉”的一代记录与写照。
四、《千年一叹》：这本越野数万里亲历人类各大文明遗迹的日记值得一读，跟着作者的眼和脚去感受希腊，埃及，以色列，约旦，伊拉克等十个国家的古老文明，飨一次千年的盛宴。
五、《林达全集》：居美——《“近距离看美国”系列》，旅法国——《带一本书去巴黎》，游西班牙——《西班牙旅行笔记》。林达的文字很朴实、优美、有洞见，通常从生活的细枝末节着手，擅长用讲故事的方式来书写历史、社会、文化等方方面面，读来引人入胜，极有代入感。通过这些故事，作者表达自己鲜明的历史观，那就是人性。
